Terms and Conditions

Last Updated: 10-09-2026

Welcome to Awesome Christmas Lighting (the “Company”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of our website (https://awesomechristmaslighting.com/) and the agreement between the Company and you (the “Client”, “you”, or “your”) for any design, installation, maintenance, takedown, and storage services of holiday, permanent, and event lighting (collectively, the “Services”).

By requesting a quote, approving an estimate, or utilizing our Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our Services.

1. Services Provided

Awesome Christmas Lighting provides professional lighting and decorating services for residential, commercial, municipal, and special event properties. Our standard all-inclusive holiday service includes:

  • Custom design consultation
  • Professional installation of lighting and décor
  • Proactive maintenance during the holiday/event season
  • Timely takedown and removal of displays
  • Year-round storage of all lighting, décor, and components

2. Equipment Ownership

Unless specifically stated otherwise in a written purchase agreement, all lighting, cords, timers, clips, décor, and related installation equipment remain the sole property of Awesome Christmas Lighting. The Client is leasing the lighting display and equipment for the duration of the agreed-upon season or event. Any unauthorized retention, modification, or destruction of our property will result in replacement fees billed to the Client at standard retail costs.

For Permanent & App-Based Outdoor Lighting installations, ownership of the equipment transfers to the Client only upon receipt of payment in full.

3. Estimates, Invoicing, and Payment Terms

  • Estimates: All quotes and estimates are valid for 30 days from the date of issue.
  • Deposits: A non-refundable deposit (typically 50% of the total project cost) may be required to secure your installation date and hold the necessary inventory.
  • Payment: The remaining balance is due strictly upon completion of the installation. We accept major credit cards, checks, and other agreed-upon electronic payment methods.
  • Late Fees: Accounts not paid in full within 14 days of the installation date may be subject to a late payment fee of 1.5% per month on the outstanding balance.
  • Cancellations: If you cancel your installation after a deposit has been made, the deposit is forfeited. If a custom order has already been processed for your property, you may be responsible for the full cost of those materials.

4. Client Responsibilities

To ensure a safe and successful installation, the Client agrees to the following:

  • Property Access: Provide our installation crew with clear, unobstructed access to the property on the scheduled installation and takedown dates.
  • Power Supply: Ensure adequate and functional outdoor power receptacles are available. The Company is not responsible for electrical issues, tripped breakers, or lack of sufficient power supply at the property.
  • Pets and Safety: Ensure that all pets are secured indoors during installation, maintenance, and takedown procedures. Ensure the work area is clear of hazards, including animal waste.
  • Authorizations: If the property is governed by a Homeowners Association (HOA) or municipal board, it is the Client’s sole responsibility to obtain any necessary approvals for the lighting display. The Company is not liable for any fines or forced removals dictated by an HOA.

5. Maintenance and Service Calls

We include proactive maintenance for all leased holiday and event lighting to ensure your display remains functional.

  • Included Maintenance: We will repair or replace malfunctioning lights, timers, or fallen strands caused by weather or natural wear and tear at no additional cost.
  • Billable Maintenance: Service calls resulting from tripped GFCI outlets, faulty property wiring, landscaping damage, vandalism, animal damage (e.g., chewed wires), or unauthorized alterations by the Client or third parties will be subject to a service fee and material replacement costs.
  • Notification: Clients must notify us promptly of any outages or issues. We strive to resolve maintenance requests within 24 to 48 hours.

6. Takedown and Storage

  • Takedown Schedule: Holiday takedowns begin in early January and continue through February. Because takedowns are heavily dependent on safe weather conditions (e.g., no ice or high winds), we cannot guarantee specific takedown dates.
  • Client Interference: The Client must not attempt to remove the lights themselves. If the Client or a third party removes the lights, the Company is not responsible for any resulting damage to the property or the lighting equipment, and the Client may be charged for damaged inventory.
  • Storage: We provide safe, year-round storage for all leased Company equipment in our facilities.

7. Limitation of Liability and Property Damage

Awesome Christmas Lighting takes the utmost care when working on your property. However, by engaging our Services, you acknowledge and agree to the following:

  • We use temporary clips, fasteners, and sometimes minor structural anchors to secure displays. We are not liable for minor cosmetic marks, holes, or standard wear and tear associated with the installation and removal of these displays.
  • We are not responsible for pre-existing damage to roofs, gutters, fascia, siding, landscaping, or electrical systems.
  • In no event shall the Company be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising out of the installation, use, or removal of the lighting displays. Our maximum liability shall not exceed the total amount paid by the Client for the Services during the current season.

8. Media and Marketing Release

The Client grants Awesome Christmas Lighting the right to take photographs and/or videos of the completed lighting displays at their property. The Client agrees that these images may be used for promotional purposes, including on our website, social media, and advertising materials, without any compensation. We will respect your privacy and will never publish your exact address or personal information.

9. Weather Delays

Installation and takedown schedules are strictly contingent upon safe weather conditions. Rain, snow, ice, or high winds may force us to reschedule your service. We will communicate any weather-related delays and reschedule your service for the next available, safe date.

10. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, without regard to their conflict of law principles. Any legal action or proceeding arising out of or related to these Terms shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in the jurisdictions where the Company operates (Northern Virginia or Northeast Pennsylvania).

11. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms and Conditions at any time without prior notice. Any changes will be effective immediately upon posting to our website. Your continued use of our Services following any modifications constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
